Correct Answer - Option 3 : A body covers equal displacements in equal interval of time

CONCEPT:

  • Acceleration: The time rate of change of velocity of an object is called the acceleration of the object.

\(⇒ a = \frac{{{\rm{\Delta }}v}}{{{\rm{\Delta }}t}}\)

Where Δv = change in velocity and Δt = change in time

  • It is a vector quantity.
  • Its direction is the same as that of change in velocity (Not of the velocity).

EXPLANATION:

  • When a body covers equal distance in equal intervals of time it is said to execute the uniform motion.
  • Since the body executes equal displacement in an equal interval of time the velocity of the body remains constant.
  • As we know, velocity is the rate of change of position of a body with respect to time, so during uniform motion, a body executes equal displacement in an equal interval of time the velocity of the body remains constant.
  • Hence, option 3 is the answer.
