Correct Answer - Option 2 : 1700

Given

On selling article for Rs 51 more, Vishnu is getting 3% more profit.

Formula

Selling price = Cost price × [(100 + Profit%)/100]

Calculation

Let CP be 100x.

SP1 = 100x × (125/100) = 125x

SP2 = 100x × (128/100) = 128x

According to question

128x - 125x = 51

⇒ 3x = 51

⇒ x = 17

∴ Cost price = 100x = 100 × 17 = 1700.
