  • The word 'Taunhid-i-Ilahi' was used by Abul Fazl and Badayuni for the so-called new religion of Akbar.
  • Many times it’s written as Din-i-Ilahi.
    • Din means Faith. Din was applied to it 80 years later.
    • Din-i Ilahi “the religion of God”, was a system of religious beliefs introduced by the Mughal emperor Akbar in 1582 CE.

  • Abul Fazl was the author of the Akbarnama, “the Book of Akbar”, a history of Akbar’s reign.
