An aeroplane covers a certain distance at a speed of 250 km/h in 4 hours. To cover the same distance in 1 hour and 40 minutes, what should be its speed?

Correct Answer - Option 3 : 600 km/h

Given:

Speed = 250 km/hr

Time1 = 4 hours

Time2 = 1 hour 40 minutes

⇒ (60 + 40) minutes

⇒ 100 minutes = 100/60 hours

⇒ 5/3 hours

Formula used:

Distance = Speed × Time taken

Calculation:

Distance covered = (250 × 4) km

⇒ 1000 km

Required speed = 1000 ÷ (5/3) km/hr

⇒ 1000 × (3/5) km/hr

⇒ 600 km/hr

∴ The required speed is 600 km/hr
