Correct Answer - Option 2 : ultrasonic waves

CONCEPT:

  • Sound waves are longitudinal mechanical waves and frequency can be defined as the number of wave cycles happening in one sec.
  • The types of sound waves whose frequency is higher than the upper audible limit of human hearing are called as Ultrasound/Ultrasonic wave.
  • Ultrasonic waves or Ultrasound waves: The sound frequency above 20,000Hz is known as ultrasonic waves. Humans cannot detect it too.
  • Examples: Bat produce Ultrasonic waves.

EXPLANATION:

  • As the bats produce Ultrasonic waves. When the ultrasonic wave produced by the bats strike with the obstacle/food of the bats then it come back at-bats. Therefore option 2 is correct.
  • Then bats run along in the direction of that obstacle and catch the food
  • Bats can’t create the waves like infraredradio waves and microwaves and they can’t detect it too.
