  • There are a total of 16 forest circles in MP.
  • The total forest area in this circle is 9290.74 square km.

  • It is one of the 52 districts of Madhya Pradesh state. Earlier, this district is known as East Nimar District.  
  • According to the Forest Survey of India (FSI), Madhya Pradesh has covered the largest forest area in India almost 77,414 sq. km.
  • In this state, there is a total of 12 National Parks and 6 Tiger Reserves that are constituted under this forest area. 
  • The Madhya Pradesh state is known as the "Tiger State of India", a total of tigers 526 were recorded in Madhya Pradesh in the recently concluded tiger census.
