Correct Answer - Option 3 : Neither I nor II

Jiddu Krishnamurti is regarded throughout the world as one of the greatest thinkers and religious teachers of all times. He is a religious teacher who calls for a spirit of doubt and enquiry (and not for blind faith and acceptance) in the field of the spirit. He did not expound any philosophy or religion, but rather talked of the things that concern all of us in our everyday life -the problems of living in modem society with its violence and corruption; of the individual's search for security and happiness; and the need for man to free himself from his inner burdens like fear, anger, hurt, sorrow and so on.

  • He criticized conventional education, which makes independent thinking extremely difficult and hinders one's comprehension of himself as a total process.
  • As per him, present-day education is a complete failure because it has over-emphasized technique.
  • Technological progress does solve certain kinds of problems for some people at one level, but it introduces wider and deeper issues too. To live at one level, disregarding the total process of life is to invite misery and destruction.
  • According to him, education is not merely acquiring knowledge, gathering and correlating facts, it is to create human beings who are integrated and therefore intelligent.
  • Further, he emphasized that the right kind of educator consists in understanding the child as he is, without imposing upon him an idea of what we think he should be, and there should not be any compulsion, as sensitivity can never be awakened through compulsion.
  • The right kind of educator never depends on methods only. Also, he considers every student an individual who is different in some ways.
  • The right kind of education frees students from books and laboratories, denies self enclosing pursuits. Also, it says that ideals have no place in education.
  • In Krishnamurti's view, another aim of education is to cultivate the right kind of relationship, not only between individuals but also between the individual and society.
  • True education enables one to understand the deep significance of man life, but to understand, the mind must intelligently free itself from the desire for the reward which breeds fear and conformity.
  • In other words, education should provide for individual freedom through which love and goodness can flower; should encourage the understanding of the inherited tendencies and environmental influences, which condition the mind and heart and bring about an integrated human being.

Hence, we conclude that "Must look the success of his students as own success" is not true in the context of the right kind of educator.
