Correct Answer - Option 2 : 25 years

Let the ages of children be x, (x + 5), (x + 10) and (x + 15).

According to problem:

x + x + 5 + x + 10 + x + 15 = 70

=> 4x + 30 = 70

=> 4x = 70 – 30

=> 4x = 40

=> x = 40/4 = 10

So, the age of the oldest child = x + 15 = 10 + 15 = 25.

Hence, ’25 years’ is the correct answer.
