Correct Answer - Option 2 : Quantity A < Quantity B

Quantity A:

S.P. = M.P. × (100 – d1/100) (100 – d2/100)

SP, MP, d1 and d2 are selling price, market price, first discount and second discount respectively.

⇒ 240 = MP × (100 – 20/100) (100 – 20/100)

⇒ 240 = MP × (80/100) (80/100)

⇒ (240 × 100 × 100/80 × 80) = MP

⇒ Rs 375 = MP

∴ Market Price of the article is Rs. 375

Quantity B:

Rs. 400

Quantity A < Quantity B
