Correct Answer - Option 2 : CRT

Cathode-Ray Oscilloscope (CRO):

  • A CRO used in a laboratory to display, measure, and analyze various waveforms of electrical circuits.
  • A cathode-ray oscilloscope is a very fast X-Y plotter The main part of the CRO is CRT ( Cathode-Ray Tube).
  • The phosphor screen is coated with 'Aquadag' to collect the secondary emitted electrons.

CRT: The CRT makes the applied signal visible by the deflection of a thin beam of electrons. It generates the electron beam and accelerates the beam to a high velocity, deflects the beam to create an image. It contains a phosphor screen where the electron beam becomes visible.

Main parts of CRT:

  • Electron gun assembly - for producing a stream of electrons.
  • Deflection plate assembly - for controlling the beam path.
  • Fluorescent screen
  • Glass envelope- evacuated glass envelope with phosphor screen giving bright spot when struck by a high velocity electron beam.
  • Base - connections made to different components.
