Correct Answer - Option 1 : Quantity 1 > Quantity 2

Given:

75% of female = 50% of male

66.66% of girls = 40% of boys

Calculation:

Quantity I:

Let the number of female = x and the number of male = y

⇒ 75% of x = 50% of y

⇒ 3x = 2y

⇒ x : y = 2 : 3

So, if x = number of female = 2a and y = number of boys = 3a

⇒ required % = (2a × 100) / 5a

⇒ required % = 40%

Quantity II:

Let the number of girls = x and the number of boys = y

⇒ 66.66% of x = 40% of y

⇒ 5x = 3y

⇒ x : y = 3 : 5

So, if x = number of girls = 3a then y = number of boys = 5a

⇒ required, % = 3a × 100 / 8a

⇒ required % ≈ 37%

Quantity I > Quantity II
