Correct Answer - Option 1 :
The heater output will increase
Concept:
The power dissipated is given by,
\(P = \frac{{{V^2}}}{R}\)
Where P is the power rating
V is the voltage rating
R is the resistance of the device
Calculation:
For the same voltage and power rating, the 60 W bulb has higher resistance compared to 100 W bulb.
In a series circuit, the current remains same.
When we replace the 60 W bulb with 100 W bulb, the resistance of the circuit decreases and hence the current in the circuit will increase.
In this case, the current is more and hence the power output of heater will increase as compared to the previous case.
