Correct Answer - Option 3 : 1/600 s

Concept:

The instantaneous value is the value of an alternating quantity at a particular instant of time in the cycle.

The standard equation of an instantaneous value of a sinusoidal wave is: I = Im sin (ωt + ϕ)

Im is the maximum value

I is the instantaneous value at time t.

Calculation:

An AC current is given by i = 100 sin 100πt A

100 sin 100πt = 50

Consider, 100πt = θ

⇒ 100 sin θ = 50

⇒ sin θ = 0.5

∴ θ = sin-1 (0.5) = π/6

Hence,

100πt = θ = π/6

∴ t = 1/600 s
