Correct Answer - Option 1 : All contain acids.

Concept:

  • DNA:
    • Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is a molecule made up of two polynucleotide chains that coil around each other to form a double helix and carry genetic instructions for all known organisms and viruses' formation, function, growth, and reproduction.
    • DNA is made up of Nucleic acids.
    • A nucleic acid is a polymeric macromolecule made up of repeated units of monomeric 'nucleotides' that contain a nitrogenous heterocyclic base (purine or pyrimidine), a pentose (five-carbon) sugar (ribose or 2′-deoxyribose), and one to three phosphate groups.
  • Proteins:
    • Proteins are big, complex molecules that play a number of important tasks in the human body.
    • They are essential for the structure, function, and control of the body's tissues and organs, and they do the majority of their activity in cells.
    • Amino acids, which are tiny chemical compounds with an alpha (central) carbon atom coupled to an amino group, a carboxyl group, a hydrogen atom, and a variable component termed a side chain, are the building blocks of proteins.
  • Fats:
    • Fat is a nutrient, and your body requires it for energy, vitamin absorption, and heart and brain health protection, much like protein and carbohydrates.
    • The backbone of a fat molecule is made up of glycerol, and the tails are made up of three fatty acids.
    • A fatty acid is made up of a long hydrocarbon chain connected to a carboxyl group, whereas glycerol is a tiny chemical molecule containing three hydroxyl (OH) groups.

Explanation:

  • DNA is made up of nucleic acids
  • Proteins are made up of amino acids.
  • Fats are made up of fatty acids.
  • All three biomolecules contain acids.
  • Hence, the correct answer to this question is - All contains acids.
