Correct Answer - Option 4 : 11/38

Given:

Ankit and Seema can finish a work in 19 days and 38 days respectively.

They together work for 9 days and then left the work.

Formula Used:

If A and B can together finish a work in t days and can alone finish the work in a and b days respectively,

Then, 1/a + 1/b = 1/t

Work = Time × Efficiency

Calculation:

Total work = LCM of 19 and 38 = 38 units

Efficiency of Ankit and Seema = 2 and 1

Units of work done in 9 days = (9 × 3) units = 27 units

Remaining work = (38 – 27) units = 11 units

Fraction of work remains = 11/38

∴ The required fraction is 11/38.
