Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 3 : Time taken by him to climb the hill

CONCEPT:

Gravitational potential energy:

  • The energy possessed by a body by virtue of its position with respect to the surface of the earth is known as gravitational potential energy.
  • The change in potential energy is given as,

⇒ PE = mgh

Where m = mass, g = gravitational acceleration and h = change in height

EXPLANATION:

  • The change in potential energy of the body is given as,

⇒ PE = mgh     -----(1)

  • We know that weight of the body is given as,

⇒ w = mg     -----(2)

  • By equation 1 and equation 2 it is clear that the change in potential energy depends on the mass of the body, weight of the body, and the change in height but it does not depend on time.
  • Hence, option 3 is correct.
