Correct Answer - Option 3 : 2520 m2

Given:

The difference between the length and breadth of a rectangle is 23 m if its perimeter is 206 m.

Concept used:

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

Calculation:

Length - Breadth = 23 m

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

2(Length + Breadth) = 206

⇒ Length + Breadth = 206/2

⇒ Length + Breadth = 103 m      ----(i)

And, Length - Breadth = 23 m      ----(ii)

Adding (i) and (ii) we get,

Length = (103 + 23)/2

⇒ Length = 126/2

⇒ Length = 63 m

Subtracting (i) and (ii) we get,

Breadth = (103 - 23)/2

⇒ Breadth = 80/2

⇒ Breadth = 40 m

Area of rectangle = 63 m × 40 m

∴ Area of rectangle = 2520 m2
