Correct Answer - Option 3 : 6 kV

Concept:

  • Modulation is the process of changing the parameters of the carrier signal, in accordance with the instantaneous values of the modulating signal.
  • The message carrying signal has to get transmitted over a distance and for it to establish reliable communication.
  • In modulation, we take the help of a high-frequency signal which should not affect the original characteristics of the message signal.

Advantages of Modulation:

  • Antenna size gets reduced.
  • Communication range increases.
  • No signal mixing occurs.

m= Modulation index

The modulation index is the ratio of the voltage of the message signal to the voltage of the carrier signal.

\({m_a} = \frac{{{V_m}}}{{Vc}}\)

Where

V= Peak voltage of message signal

Vc = Voltage of carrier signal

Explanation:

Given

ma = 0.6

Vc =  10 kV

\({m_a} = \frac{{{V_m}}}{{Vc}}\)

Vm = ma V

Vm = 0.6 × 10 × 103

Vm = 6 kV
