Directions: In the following question, two statements are numbered as Quantity I and Quantity II. On solving these statements, we get quantities I and II respectively. Solve both quantities and choose the correct option.

Quantity I: 5, 3, 4, 7.5, 17, ?

Quantity II: 2, 4.5, 11, 30, ?,

1. Quantity I < Quantity II
2. Quantity I > Quantity II
3. Quantity I ≤ Quantity II

Correct Answer - Option 1 : Quantity I < Quantity II

Calculation:

Quantity I:

The logic behind the given series is as follows

5 × 0.5 + 0.5 = 3

3 × 1 + 1 = 4

 4 × 1.5 + 1.5 = 7.5

7.5 × 2 + 2 = 17

17 × 2.5 + 2.5 = ? = 45

Quantity I = 45

Quantity II:

The logic behind the given series is as follows

2 × 1.5 + 1.5 = 4.5

4.5 × 2 + 2 = 11

11 × 2.5 + 2.5 = 30

30 × 3 + 3 = ? = 93

Quantity II = 93

Quantity I

Relation

Quantity II

45

93

∴ From the table, we can see that, Quantity I < Quantity II.
