Correct Answer - Option 3 : (B), (C), (D) and (F)

Explanation:

Parasitic mode of Nutrition

  • Organisms following a parasitic mode of nutrition do not prepare or look out for their own food.
  • They are dependent upon other organisms for their nutrition.
  • In plants, Cuscuta is an example of a parasite as it depends upon other plants.
  • It does not have chlorophyll and it takes food from another plant which is known as the host.
  • In animals, bedbugs, Leeches, and Lice are examples of parasitics.
  • Bedbugs, leeches, and lice feed themselves on the blood of other animals.

So, the correct option here is (B), (C), (D), and (F).

Some Other Types of Nutrition

Symbiotic Nutrition
  • Two different kinds of organisms live together for their mutual benefit.
  • Algae, which is an autotroph, and fungus, which is a saprophyte, live together in a lichen is an example of a symbiotic relationship.
Autotrophic Nutrition
  • The organism produces its food from simple inorganic materials such as water, carbon dioxide, and mineral salts in the presence of sunlight.
  • Example: Green plants, autotrophic bacteria.
  • Symbiotic and Parasitic are heterotrophic mode of nutrition where plant directly or indirectly depends upon autotrophs for their food.
