A crow bar of length 100cm is used to lift a load of 5kgf. It has its fulcrum at a distance of 20cm from the load. Calculate: 

(i) the mechanical advantage of crow bar, and 

(ii) the effort applied at the other end.

Given: L = 5kgf, Load arm = 20cm, Effort arm = 100 – 20 = 80cm. 

(Since the crow bar is the lever of first order with fulcrum in between the load and the effort).
