  • Param Vir Chakra:
    • It is the highest gallantry award for officers and other enlisted personnel of all military branches of India for the highest degree of valor in the presence of the enemy.

  • Ashok Chakra is the Peacetime award and it is the equivalent to Paramvir Chakra.
    • It is awarded for the most conspicuous bravery or some daring or preeminent valor of sacrifice other than in the face of the enemy.
