Correct Answer - Option 3 : 400, 700, 500

Let x be the common multiple.

The ratio of the number of each type coins = 4 : 7 : 5

So, number of 50p coins is 4x, number of 25p coins is 7x and number of 10p coins is 5x.

According to question:

(0.50 × 4x + 0.25 × 7x + 0.10 × 5x) = 425 (Here paise is converted to rupees because the total amount is given in terms of rupees)

(2x + 1.75x + 0.50x) = 425

4.25x = 425

x = 100

Number of 50p coins = 4x = 4 × 100 = 400

Number of 25p coins = 7x = 7 × 100 = 700

Number of 10p coins = 5x = 5 × 100 = 500

Hence, “400, 700, 500” is the correct answer.
