Correct Answer - Option 1 : Power

CONCEPT:

  • Physical quantity: It is a property of a material or system that can be quantified by measurement. A physical quantity can be expressed as the combination of a numerical value and a unit.
    • For example, the Physical quantity mass can be quantified as n kg, where n is the numerical value and kg is the unit.
  • Power: It can be defined as the rate at which work is done i.e. energy converted.

The formula for power is P = W / t

  • The unit of power is the watt (W)

EXPLANATIONS:

  • Power is the physical quantity that is measured in watts.
  • Hence option 1 is the answer.

  • Momentum: Momentum is a physics term, it refers to the quantity of motion that an object has. A sports team that is on the move has momentum. If an object is in motion (on the move) then it has momentum.
    • momentum is mass times velocity. ( mv)
  • Impulse: A car is traveling at full speed. it crashes into the barrier, because of the negligence of the driver.
    • Impulse is the big force acting for a very small interval of time, it is represented by J.
    • Impulse formula is articulated as

J = F × t

  • where the force applied is given as F and the time interval throughout which force is applied is given as t.
  • Kinetic energy: "Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by the body by virtue of its motion"
    • Kinetic energy is a scalar quantity.
    • Kinetic energy is completely described by a magnitude alone.
    • The SI unit of kinetic energy is Joule which is equal to 1 kg.m2.s-2.
    • The C.G.S unit of kinetic energy is erg.

K.E = 1/2mv2.
