Correct Answer - Option 1 : 1 only

The correct answer is 1 only.

  • Binary Fission reproduction
    • It is asexual reproduction by a separation of the body into two new bodies.
    • Under this, an organism duplicates its genetic material, and then divides into two parts (cytokinesis), with each new organism receiving one copy of DNA.
    • Example- binary fission in amoeba. (Pair 1 is correct)
  • Regeneration reproduction
    • It is a type of asexual reproduction in which the organism is capable of regrowing certain body parts.
    • Lizards can regenerate their tails and starfish can regenerate their arms.
    • Example- Hydra and Planaria (They can be cut into any number of pieces and each piece grows into a complete organism). (Pair 2 is incorrect)
  • Fragmentation reproduction
    • It is a form of asexual reproduction in which an organism splits into fragments.
    • Once divided, these fragments develop into individual ones that are fully grown.
    • Example- Spirogyra (Pair 3 is incorrect)
