Correct Answer - Option 4 : 35 days

Given:

Ram and Shayam can complete a work together = 28 days

Shayam alone can complete work = 49 days

Both Ram and Shayam work for 8 days then Ram leave the work

Concept:

Total work = Time × Efficiency

Calculation:

Work done by

Time taken

(in day)

Efficiency

Ram + Shayam

28

196/28 = 7

Shayam

49

196/49 = 4

Total work = L. C. M. = 196

Both Ram and Shayam work done in 8 days = 8 × 7 = 56 unit

Remaining work = 196 – 56 = 140 unit

Let, Remaining work done by Shayam in x days

Then, x = 140/4 = 35 days

Shayam will finish the remaining work in 35 days.
