Correct Answer - Option 2 : 115 days

Given:

Abhishek is 20% more efficient than Dolly, Dolly takes 23 days more than Abhishek to complete a piece of work.

Concept:

Efficiency is inversely proportional to the time.

Calculation:

Ratio of efficiency of Abhishek and Dolly = 120 ∶ 100

Ratio of time taken by Abhishek and Dolly = 100 ∶ 120

Let Abhishek takes 100x days, and Dolly takes 120x days to complete a piece of work.

Days taken by Dolly – Days taken by Abhishek = 23

⇒ 120x – 100x = 23

⇒ 20x = 23

⇒ x = 23/20

Days taken by Abhishek = 100x

⇒ 100 × 23/20

⇒ 5 × 23

⇒ 115

And, days taken by Dolly = 120x

⇒ 120 × 23/20

⇒ 6 × 23

⇒ 138

Abhishek will take 115 days to complete the same work.
