Correct Answer - Option 2 : x + 2

Given:

A = {(x - 2), x, (x - 3), (x + 8), (x + 7)}

Formula Used:

Arithmetic mean = Sum of terms/Number of terms

Calculations:

Number of terms = 5

Sum of terms = (x - 2) + x + (x - 3) + (x + 8) + (x + 7)

⇒ Sum of terms = 5x + 10

Arithmetic mean = Sum of terms/Number of terms

⇒ Arithmetic mean = (5x + 10)/5

⇒ Arithmetic mean = (x + 2)

∴ The arithmetic mean of set A is (x + 2).
