Calculation :

Speed of upstream = 48/4 = 12 km/hr

Speed of downstream = 48/3 = 16 km/hr

Let the speed of boat in still water be x and speed of current be y

So, x – y = 12   …..1

x + y = 16         …..2

After solving 1^st and 2^nd we get

x = 14 km/hr

⇒ Speed of boat in still water = 14 Km/hr
