  • Aravali:
    • Aravali is a mountain range located in the western part of India, Rajasthan. 
    • The average height of Aravali is 930 meters
    • It is the oldest mountain range in the world, which divides Rajasthan from north to south in two parts. 
    • It originated in the Precambrian era (45000 million years). 
    • The highest mountain peak of Aravali is Gurushkhat (1727 m) in Sirohi district. 
    • The Bhil tribe has lived in the vicinity of the Aravalli ranges for centuries.
  • Flora:
    • This range has dense forests only in the southern region, otherwise, in most areas, it is sparse, sandy and rocky.
  • Fauna:

  •  Mukandara
    • ​This pass is formed by two parallel mountains Mukundra and Gargola.
    • This pass is also known as Darrah in the local language.
    • The Mukundra Tiger Reserve (TR) is located in this valley or pass.
    • It is located on the eastern bank of the Chambal River.
    • In 2004 it was declared as Mukundra Hills National Park.
    • In 2013 Mukandara got approval from NTCA & was declared as a Tiger Reserve.
    • Recently it has been identified as an Eco-sensitive zone.
