Correct Answer - Option 2 : Temperature

Explanation:

The movement of energy from one place to another is called energy transferHeat transfer mainly takes place due to temperature differences.

There are three modes of Heat transfer. The unit of heat transfer is Joule.

  1. Conduction: The mode of heat transfer in solids where heat transfer takes place without the movement of medium particles is called conduction.
  • For example: By heating one end of a metal rod we can feel the heat at the other end.
  1. Convection: The mode of heat transfer in fluids where heat transfer takes place due to the movement of particles of the medium is called convection.
  • For example: Heating of water in a pot
  1. Radiation: The mode of heat transfer where heat is transferred from one place to another without affecting the medium particles is called radiation.
  • For example: Sun emits radiation in the form of light, heat.

Heat flux can be defined as the rate of heat energy transfer through a given surface. Unit is W/m2.

Specific heat is the quantity of energy required for a unit mass to change the temperature by 1K.
