Correct Answer - Option 3 : 10000 m2

Given:

Length of the rectangle = 80 m

The breadth of the rectangle = 60 m

Diagonal of the rectangle = a

Side of new square = a

Formula:

(Diagonal)2 = (Length)2 + (Breadth)2

Area of the square = a2

Calculation:

a2 = 802 + 602

⇒ a2 = 6400 + 3600

⇒ a2 = 10000

⇒ a = 100 m

∴ Area of the square = 100 × 100 = 10,000 m2
