Correct Answer - Option 2 : 30

Given:

Score in 16th innings is 120

Increase in average is 6

Formula Used:

Total score = Average × No. of Innings

Calculations:

Let the initial average be ‘k’

⇒ New average = k + 6

⇒ Total Score after 15 innings = 15k

⇒ Total Score after 16 innings = 16(k + 6) = 16k + 96

⇒ 15k + 120 = 16k + 96

⇒ k + 6 = 30

∴ New Average = k + 6 = 30
