Correct Answer - Option 1 : The statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question, but the statement II alone is not sufficient.

From Statement I:

Let the total income be Rs x.

⇒ (1/3) × x = 27,000

⇒ x = Rs. 81,000

⇒ Income is Rs. 81,000

∴ The data in statement 1 is sufficient to answer the question.

From Statement II

Saving is Rs. 4,000

But expenditure is not given so, we can’t find the income.

The statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question, but the statement II alone is not sufficient.
