Correct Answer - Option 3 : Rs. 100

GIVEN:

A can do half of the work in 5 days and B can do 1/3rd of the work in 6 days.

CONCEPT:

Efficiency is inversely proportional to time.

And
Ratio of amount = Ratio of efficiency

CALCULATION:

Time in which A will complete the whole work = 5 × 2 = 10 days

And

Time in which B will complete the whole work = 6 × 3 = 18 days

So,

Ratio of efficiencies of A and B = 18 : 10 = 9 : 5

Hence,

Amount received by B = 280 × 5/14 = Rs. 100
