Correct Answer - Option 3 : 400

GIVEN:

Raj scores 30% and fails by 60 marks, while Rohan who scores 55% marks, gets 40 marks more than the minimum required marks to pass the examination.

FORMULA USED:

X% of Y = Y × X/100

CALCULATION:

Suppose maximum marks = X

According to the question:

0.3X + 60 = 0.55X - 40

⇒ 0.25X = 100

∴ X = 400
