Correct Answer - Option 1 : 58 years

Given:

Age (A + B), 6 years ago = 88

A's age 18 years ago = B's age 6 years ago

Calculation:

Let the present age of A be 'x' years and age of B be 'y' years

(x - 6) + (y - 6) = 88

⇒ x + y = 100       ---- (i)

A's age 18 years ago = B's age 6 years ago

x - 18 = y - 6

⇒ x - y = 12       ---- (ii)

Adding equation i and ii

2x = 112 or x = 56

Present age of A = x = 56 years

∴ The age of A two years hence = 56 + 2 = 58 years
