If a number A is \(42_7^6\% \) of another number B and B is \(87_2^1\% \) more than C. The number C is \(28_7^4\% \) of 980. Then find the number A.

Formula used:

Percentage = (Part value/Original value) × 100

Calculation:

The number C is \(28_7^4\% \) of 980

⇒ 980 × (200/7) × (1/100)

⇒ 280

The number B is \(87_2^1\% \) more than C

⇒ 280 × (375/2) × (1/100)

⇒ 525

The number A is \(42_7^6\% \) of number B

⇒ 525 × (300/7) × (1/100)

⇒ 225

∴ The number A is 225.
