Correct Answer - Option 3 : 4 : 1

Given:

The ratio of the areas of two squares = 16 ∶ 1

Formula used:

Area of square = (Side of the square)2

Perimeter of square = 4 × (Side of the square)

Calculations:

Let the side of the two squares be a and b respectively

The ratio of the areas of two squares

⇒ a2 ∶ b =16 ∶ 1

⇒ a ∶ b = 4 ∶ 1

The ratio of the perimeter of two squares

⇒ 4a ∶ 4b = (4 × 4) ∶ (4 × 1)

⇒ 16 ∶ 4

⇒ 4 ∶ 1

∴ The ratio of the perimeter of two squares is 4 ∶ 1
