Correct Answer - Option 2 : 73

The pattern of the original number series is

⇒ 79

⇒ 79 + (1 × 2) = 81

⇒ 81 + (2 × 3) = 87

⇒ 87 + (3 × 4) = 99

⇒ 99 + (4 × 5) = 119

⇒ 119 + (5 × 6) = 149

According the pattern of the above series the number series starting from the given number would be as:

⇒ 53

⇒ A = 53 + (1 × 2) = 55

⇒ B = 55 + (2 × 3) = 61

⇒ C = 61 + (3 × 4) = 73

⇒ D = 73 + (4 × 5) = 93

⇒ E = 93  + (5 × 6) = 123

∴ The required number in place of ‘C’ would be 73.
