Correct Answer - Option 2 : Rs. 218

Let the pocket money (in Rs.) of A, B and C be 3x, 4x and 5x.

Since their initial average pocket money was Rs. 84,

[3x + 4x + 5x] / 3  = 84

3x + 4x + 5x = 84 ⨯ 3 = 252

∴ 12x = 252

∴ x = 21

Hence, if Rs. 50 is to be given to A and C, total amount they will now get together = 3x + 5x + 50

= 8x + 50 = (8 ⨯ 21) + 50 = 168 + 50 = 218

Hence, ‘218’ is the correct answer.
