We have given, weight of gold = 2g

Change in temperature = 11.7° or 11.7 k

Heat supplied = 3.0 J

Q = msot

where = Q = Heat

m = mass of object

ot = change in temperature

s = Specific heat of substance

3.0 J = 2.0 x s x 11.7

s = 3/ 2.0 x 11.7

s = 0.128 J/gk

Hence, the specific heat of gold will be 0.128 J/gk
