The rate of chlorination depends on the stability of carbocation.

\(\oplus CF_3\)\(\oplus CH_3\),\(\oplus C(CH_3)\) and \(\oplus\overset{O}{\overset{||}C}-H\)

We know that 3° carbocation is highly stabilized by hyper conjugations.

There X - C(CH3)3 give relatively high rate of chlorination.
