Calculate the following :

The moles of sodium hydroxide contained in 160 g of it. [Na = 23, O = 16, H = 1]

1 g molecular weight of NaOH = Na +O + H

= 23 + 16 + 1 = 40 g = 1 mole

40 g of NaOH represent = 1 mole of NaOH

∴ 160 g of NaOH will represent = 160/40 = 4 moles of NaOH
