Best answer

Let the cost of 1 kg of potato be x.

Then cost of 1 kg of onion is x + 3

x + x + 3 = 247

2x + 3 = 247

2x = 244

⇒ x = \(\frac{244}{2}\) = Rs. 122.

The cost of potatoes per kg = Rs. 122

The cost of onions per kg = x + 3

= 122 + 3

= Rs.125
