Best answer

Let the breadth of a rectangular field = x m.

Length = 2 × x – 8 = (2x – 8) m.

Perimeter of a field = 56 m.

∴ 2(l + b) = 56

l + b = 28

2x – 8 + x = 28

3x = 28 + 8 = 36

x = \(\frac{36}3\)

∴ x= 12

∴ Breadth = 12 m

Length = 2x – 8

= 2 × 12 – 8

= 24 – 8 = 16m.
