In class of 40 pupils the number of girls is three fifths of the number of boys. Find the number of boys in the class.

Let the number of boys = x say. 

Total number of students = 40 

Number of girls = \(\frac35\) × x = \(\frac{3x}5\)

According to the sum 3x

∴ x = 25 

∴ Number of boys in the class room = 25
