Arrange the observations in ascending order = 10, 12, 13, p, 17, 18.

n = 6 (even number)

Mean of n/2, n/2 + 1 is median.

3rd and 4th observations = `13+p/2 = 14

13 + p = 28

p = 28 – 13

p = 12

∴ ‘p’ value is 12.
