The Mariners had been trapped in the midst of icebergs and snow. They had lost all hope of escaping from the ocean and felt relieved when the Albatross arrived. The south wind started blowing, the weather improved, and the Mariners felt comfortable and hopeful. They were aware of the blessings the Albatross had brought and compared the bird to Jesus who had brought joy and infused the people with new hope. The bird provided them company and they fed and played with it the bird proved to be very lucky, kind, and gentle to them and hailed it as a ‘Christian Soul’ !
