What is the role of biofeedback in dealing with stress?

It monitors and reduces physiological aspects of stress by providing feedback about current physiological activities and accompanied by relaxation training. 

It involves three stages: 

a. developing an awareness of the particular physiological response; 

b. learning ways of controlling that physiological response in quiet conditions. 

c. transferring that control into the conditions of everyday life.
